Here at Aspire Travel we’re feeling pretty pleased with ourselves. We’ve found out that we are finalists for an award!
It’s the East of England StartUp Awards, where we are a finalist for Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality StartUp of the Year. We’re absolutely thrilled because we know that the competition is stiff in the East of England.
The East of England StartUp Awards recognises the achievements of those amazing individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service.
The award encapsulates and embodies the birth of Aspire Travel and how our journey began. Our Travel Director Kelly Baldwin, has always had a passion for worldwide travel yet never formally worked in the travel industry. Following the global pandemic; and two years of pent up frustration to include multiple lockdowns and restrictions for travel, she had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and took the risks to launch a travel business. In July 2021, Aspire Cambridge Travel Ltd became a registered business and launched their travel business under the brand name Aspire Travel. Trading under Not Just Travel and selling travel services on behalf of Hays Travel Limited, Aspire Travel benefits from Hays Travel’s membership of ABTA. Aspire Travel went on to place a dozen bookings in 2021 however largely remained dormant until 4th January 2022 whilst Kelly managed other commitment and projects.
Kelly ran the business single-handedly overseeing all aspects of sales, customer service, operations and finance until April 2021 when she appointed Clare Riola as Head of Travel who now oversees our sales operation process and travel consultant. Together, Kelly and Clare enjoyed continued success and due to unprecedented growth, appointed Mia Gamble as a Travel Consultant in September 2022.
Today, the #TravelTrio are enjoying phenomenal success and continue to go from strength to strength and upon receiving notification of being shortlisted for this award Kelly said:

I am honestly grateful for the recognition we have received for our work, because I am very sure that every other nominee for this award is as capable if not more, of winning this award. We have an incredible team at Aspire Travel and none of this would not be possible without the passion, determination and synergy between Clare, Mia and myself - we really do have something special. It goes without saying that we’re really looking forward to finding out if we’ve secured the top spot at the Awards Ceremony in June – we’ll let you know when we do!"
